Summary: Dropped a lot and still works great!
Comment: I've read some of the other reviews, this is my experience:
Pros:
1. This is a biggie--durability. I drop my phone on a regular basis, usually when it falls out of my car onto the pavement when I occasionally forget it is in my lap and then get out of the car. (Okay, no comments from the peanut gallery!) Nevertheless, my phone has continued to work 2 years later (it probably helps that my husband quickly bought me a case for the phone that remains on the phone even during calls).
2. I rarely have dropped calls and haven't had any problems with getting good reception and clarity practically everywhere. I forget to recharge regularly--my phone recharges pretty fast.
3. I saw comments from some of the other reviewers but I have never experienced any high-pitched noises.
4. My kids send and receive text messages/pictures/clips using my phone without any problems.
5. The screen is bright--I often use it as a flashlight in the car. One of these days, I will buy a flashlight for my car...
6. Did I mention that I found it very hard-wearing?
Cons:
1. Pictures on the camera phone are fuzzy.
2. Outside keys are handy but sometimes al contact gives you driving mode when you don't want it.
3. I wish the phone came with more ring tone choices because many ring tone websites don't support Verizon.

It's a good, basic cell phone--not as many bells and whistles as the newer phones and I haven't checked out some of the ones that are included. I bought this phone for phone convenience and it works well. By the way, I agree with the advice to ask friends where you live about their reception with their phone and its carrier--sometimes it matters in your area.

Summary: SOLID PERFORMER
Comment: This phone was a replacement for me after my other phone dove into the washing machine...I can afford Blackberrys etc...But this phone is truly reliable, rugged and has never failed me once. I read some of the other reviews I do not think they read the instructions on this phone. It has a variety of ringers, and ways to silence keyboards, on and off etc..it is loaded with functions even voice activated. I have friends who have this phone and would rather give a child away than their phone. Eventually I will get a new phone...but this phone has been a solid performer if you need great reception and sound, a good camera, internet access, and the type of phone that is sturdy if dropped...and won't let you down this is the one...it is LG's best secret...if reliabilty and performace matter to you this is the best buy in the cell phone world..

Summary: Eh
Comment: ive had it for 1 1/2 years and i cant wait for the 2 year contract to expire

CONS:
-the camera often goes off in my pocket and takes 50 pictures of the inside of my pocket and i have to delete them all 1 by 1
-on most Verizon wireless phones you can record sounds and use those sounds and sounds people send you as ringtones...not on this phone
-this might be an individual problem..on just my phone...but it turns off by itself and freezes in the middle of conversations and txting etc.

PROS:
-It is a good price for what you get...its the cheapest camera phone made by verizon
-its easy to use the camera and other features on the phone, such as the voice recognition, which is exceptionally great for a phone of this price.

overall i guess im just sick of it but its a great phone if you want to save money and have a camera so you can more personalize your phone.

Summary: OK phone made worse by Verizon
Comment: I got these phones for my family one year ago and would like to share our experiences. Contrary to what some people are saying, the clarity for us has been fine, not exceptional but slightly better than average. The lighted display is almost bright enough to work as a flashlight in some instances and the mirrored area around the display comes in handy in a pinch to put contact lenses back in, make-up, etc. The buttons are easy enough to work and have had few problems inherent to the phone.

Enter Verizon: You should be able to transfer pictures taken with this phone to your pc, but Verizon has disabled it so that a) you'll subscribe to an extra service to be able to do that and b) if you don't, your pics will accumulate and use up battery power faster so you'll upgrade to their slightly more powerful battery. The battery life was never even average in this phone, but after one year a 15 minute call can run the battery down 50%, 2 hours of talking means get this phone back to a power source or it will die. Even if the phone isn't used at all, just sitting on a table will exhaust the battery life in one day. The standard battery is 1000mAh, you can spend another $35-40 upgrading to a 1700mAh battery which was not designed to fit so it will need an additional cover. Voice memo has also been disabled and I'm not sure what else, there has been a lot of rigging to funnel you into buying extras through Verizon. The plastic front display broke the same way, at the same time, on all our phones and instead of buying new housing we're looking at bending over and upgrading to entirely new phones now and hopefully being done with this cycle. In summary this was an average phone to begin with, but after the tinkering Verizon has done to force you into their extra products and services, it's just not a good deal. Save yourself time, frustration and money and just start with a more expensive phone with better battery life.

Summary: Overall, good phone
Comment: This phone is great. I got it for my birthday and i've had it since july 2006. Everything works great on this phone, except i hate how long it takes to get to Mobile IM. I mainly use it for text messaging, instant messaging, taking pictures and placing calls. The text messages come quickly, instant messages are quick also. The camera is pretty good for this phone. When i talk to someone on the phone the sound is great. Although it shows up on the inside screen, I wish the picture caller ID showed up on the outside of the phone like my dad's Samsung a970.

CONS:
-When taking self portraits from the front, the picture is a mirror-image so it is backwards.
- No picture caller ID on the outside screen

PROS:
-Mobile IM
-Text Messaging Easy
-Camera Easy
-This is my first phone, and i think it's great for first time phone users
