Customer Rating: Summary: Ugh.... Comment: I've always been a "purist" as I like to call myself, so I'm one where I try not to "cover" my iPods, cell phones, etc. with cases galore. I like to have them shine in their original beauty, but, unfortunately, that isn't always the case. As is the case with nearly every iPod and iPhone, a portion of it can and will get scratched. As a result, and from the recommendation of a friend, I picked up the Incase silicone cover. Really, it's not bad, but I ended up having several issues with it that caused me to throw it in a drawer.
1. Like most other silicone cases, this case gets dirty. This is only magnified even more when you keep the phone in your pocket, like I do. Not too big of a deal, but I found you had to clean it out every couple of days, especially if you wanted to keep it clear of dust/dirt.
2. This probably ended up being the deal clincher for me, but, as you know, the iphone's way of input is with your finger. The edge of this case ends up covering a slight portion of the screen, so when you push "keys" on the edges, you're always running into the case. It got to be such a pain, that I couldn't stand have the case.
How do I feel about it in the end? It probably would've worked out if they'd made it not wrap so far around the phone. As mentioned, the killer was the fact that I kept hitting the case when I was hitting the iphone's virtual keys that were on the edge. I ended up just picking up an Invisible Shield, which goes back to how I feel about letting the product flaunt itself.
Customer Rating: Summary: Have the 3G iPhone and iPod touch versions - work great Comment: I have had this case for my iPod touch for 10 months now. Wonderful case. Fits tight, barely adds to the profile of the device, provides a nice grippy texture (can put it on your dashboard, etc), and has a cool texture. My ONLY complaint is that it's too thick for the dock - but that's not a big deal as you can just take the spacer out and it holds fine.
I just got the 3G iPhone case today, and it seems to fit just as nicely as the one for the iPod.
Customer Rating: Summary: So-So Comment: I bought one of these in Chocolate about 6 months ago. In a couple of months the color started to change to a pea green. After about 3 months the top started to crack and progressed to the point that the case would just fall off.
I like the way the material grips things like a car hood or a sofa cushion, and I believe it helped with preventing damage to the phone from a few drops. But it just doesn't hold up to everyday switching the ringer off & on and plugging & unplugging the headphones.
Customer Rating: Summary: Works well...initially Comment: When I first purchased this for my iPhone, I thought it was great. It provided a relatively good fit, although it was a little loose near the home button. The cutouts for the headphone, camera and audible/silent button are perfectly lined up. Also, the rubber over the volume up/down and the sleep/wake button work well.
My problem came about 3 months later. The case is starting to crack around the top of the display. For $30 for a piece of rubber, I would think that this rubber would be a little stronger.
I'd recommend this, but if you put the iPhone in your pants pockets, you'll find it won't last long.
